Family bondWhat if you could lose weight or prevent weight gain in just 10 seconds a day?

Sounds like a late-night infomercial. But wait…there’s more.

Got holiday-weight gain on your mind? All you need is 10 seconds a day.

That’s about how long it takes to step on a scale and weigh yourself. New research shows that a daily weigh-in can help you lose weight or maintain your weight.

In a recent study published in the journal, Obesity, researchers tracked weigh-in data from 1,042 people for 12 months. Participants weighed themselves at home and recorded their weight. Researchers found that the people who weighed themselves daily lost more weight and kept it off for a year, than those who didn’t.

Want to tip the scale in the right direction and start the New Year out right? Step on the scale. It only takes about 10 seconds. Then write it down or use an app and mobile device to keep track of your weight.

Why? You’re more likely to make better food choices and be more active when you see the scale every day.

Tip: Step on the scale every day. Write down your weight or use a wearable device or mobile app to track your progress. Share your daily progress with someone else to be accountable.
